Electronic magazines meet similar criteria to a printed newspaper in terms of topicality, their content focus, target group definition, regular publication frequency, editorial contributions and online advertising
. E-zines are often a direct implementation of the corresponding print medium and thus do not live upto
their claim as an electronic online medium. They can be published in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) on websites, are sent to e-mail addresses via distribution lists and serve as a sales aid for printed journals. They provide incentives to buy in an up-to-date short form.
