electromagnetic compatibility level (ECL)
To ensure the electromagnetic compatibility( EMC) of devices and systems, it is necessary to define a maximum electromagnetic interference level.
This interference level must be guaranteed for any points in a system and ensures that all devices are immune to electromagnetic interference. The electromagnetic compatibility level ( ECL) is the highest expected interference level within a facility, device or system.
The electromagnetic interference limits specified in the standards are a compromise. Reducing the emission limit results in a lower interference level limit, but it increases the costs required by the additional measures.
