echo mail

An Echomail is a special message transmissionin the Fido network. This transmission is a kind of topic-specific message conference. The messages of a subject area are compressed, packetized and sent to the next participant of the discussion forum, called Area in FidoNet. Using this method, messages about specific subject areas can be sent quickly to all participants.

In general, echo mails are publicly accessible and can be read by every FidoNet participant.
