earliest deadline first (CPU) (EDF)

Earliest Deadline First (EDF) is a priority procedure of the operating system with which it allocates CPU power to the processes.

Earliest Deadline First is a deadline-dependent allocation in which the priorities change through recalculation. This can be done by the response time behavior considering the computation time and the remaining computation time. The process that can best meet the response deadline will perform the processing.

Other methods for allocating processor power include First Come First Served( FCFS), Shortest Job First( SJF), Round Robin( RR), and Fixed External Priorities ( FEP).
