dynamic voltage restorer (DVR)

A Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is a dynamic voltage source that compensates for load changes, voltage drops, voltage spikes and other supply voltage disturbances.

Dynamic Voltage Restorers are connected as supply components in the low-voltage network and compensate for short-term voltage fluctuations. The supply voltage delivered by the Dynamic Voltage Restorer is constant and prevents malfunctions of the devices connected to the low-voltage network caused by unstable supply voltages.

DVR devices are often used in production facilities, they are connected to three- phase power and prevent the undesirable slowdown of the production process, which can be caused by abrupt changes in electrical power demand. The control system is mainly based on power semiconductors such as IGBT and IGCT.
