dynamic network address translation (DNAT)

Dynamic Address Translation(DNAT) is an improved Network Address Translation( NAT) method.

With the DNAT method, the router only translates the IPv4 address, but not the port number, as with Network Address Port Translation( NAPT). The dynamic method is used for address mapping from many internal computers to a few public IPv4 addresses.

In contrast, Static Network Address Translation( SNAT) is used for address translation in private networks.
