distribution technology

Since telecommunications and data transmission technologyor IP technology are growing ever closer together, a common distribution technology for both networks should also be part of any communications infrastructure planning in the medium term.

However, such a development presupposes that uniform network structures are created for both networks and that telecommunications technology and data technology use common cable routes, the cable connection elements match, the transmission paths are electrically homogeneous for both technologies and the distribution structure follows the same cabling structures. Based on these requirements, the information technology cabling of the distribution technology, taking into account three junction boxes per workstation(DIN50173), can be implemented in the following basic types:

Distributors with fixed connection: The telephone cables, the data cables and the connecting cables of the hubs are laid on their own disconnecting strips. Switching wires connect the strips of the Tk cables and the hubs with the disconnecting strips of the data network

Distributors with a patch panel: There is still a fixed connection for the telephone cables. The hubs are connected with their own disconnecting strips and patch cables connect the disconnecting strips of the hubs with the disconnecting strips of the data network

Distributor with two patch panels: All incoming and outgoing connections are made using patch cables

Distributors withone patch panel and patch cables that can be plugged in at one end: The connecting cables of the hubs are permanently connected to the separating strip and plugged in at the hub end.

Distributorwith copper cable and fiber optic cable: On the connection side, two TP cables and one fiber optic cable are laid to the junction boxes.
