Distributed Generation (DG) is the distributed generation of energy on the property of end users. It refers to the point of consumption. For example, it is distributed generation when a consumer generates and consumes his own electricity with his own photovoltaic system. Distributed energy generation has the advantage over centralized energy generation that there are hardly any costs for feeding the energy into the power grid, for regulation, distribution and interactions. Distributed energy generation transfers control and monitoring to the consumer.
