Dissipative floors (DIF) have dissipative resistances between 10exp6 and 10exp9. Charges on the floor are discharged to earth via this resistance
. Conductive floors comply with VDE standard 0100 and do not pose a danger to persons. In contrast to electrostatically conductive floors (ECF), the discharge current of conductive floors is lower and the time span for discharge is longer. This has particular advantages for the protection of highly sensitive components.
