display stream compression (DSC)

Display Stream Compression (DSC) is a standard from VESA to compress the data streams of Embedded DisplayPort (eDP). With High Bit Rate (HBR3) and Display Stream Compression in version 1.1., Embedded DisplayPort, eDP 1.4 supports large screen displays with an image resolution of 8K. DSC compression reduces the need for interconnect cables.
