display pixel interface (DSI) (DPI)

The Display Pixel Interface (DPI) is an interface specified by the MIPI Alliance for handheld displays with active matrices( AM).

The DPI specifications define the video format and the signaling of the active matrix. The DPI interface can be configured using multiple data paths and various control signals. The specifications include the electrical characteristics, timing, pixel format, and command set for the mobile device display module. They are not applicable to passive matrices.
