direct numerical control (NC) (DNC)

Direct Numerical Control (DNC) is a direct numerical control system that uses a communications link to transfer part programs from a computer to a numerical control( NC) system.

Direct Numerical Control is used to control machine tools, converting data records transmitted from the manufacturing computer into changes in the movement of the machine tool. The individual data records are processed one after the other.

Direct Numerical Control is a further development of Computerized Numerical Control( CNC), which in turn is based on Numerical Control (NC).
