digital object finder (web) (DOI)

A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is a permanent address suffix to a web file or other Internet document so that the web page or document can be found even if the Internet address changes. The DOI identifier is used to redirect the user to the new Internet address. The DOI identification takes the place of the old Internet address together with the new Internet address.
