digital object finder (DOI)

A DigitalObject Identifier (DOI) is a permanent address suffix to a web file or other Internet document so that the web page or document can be found even if the Internet address is changed. The DOI identifier is used to redirect the user to the new Internet address. The DOI identification replaces the old Internet address together with the new Internet address.
