digital multiplexed interface (DMI)

The Digital Multiplex Interface (DMI) is an ISDN-like interface which is based in the Federal Republic of Germany on a PCM-32 multiplex connection with 2.048 Mbit/s. The DMI is based on a PCM-32 multiplex connection. This means that 30 channels, each with a transmission rate of 64 kbit/s, are available for connection to a DMI computer system. The remaining two channels are used for signalling.
