In the case of home networks, there are various product categories specified by the Digital Living Network Alliance( DLNA), whose interoperability is ensured by the DLNA Interoperability Guidelines.

Digital MediaPlayer( DMP) and Mobile Digital Media Player (M-DMP) are two product groups that belong to Home Network Devices( HND) and Mobile Handheld Devices( MHD).

Digital Media Players (DMP) find content provided by Digital Media Servers( DMS) and can display or play it. Examples of DMP products include televisions, TV monitors, home theaters, stereo systems, printers, game consoles, and other playback devices. M-DMP products also include mobile devices such as tablets, PDAs and smartphones.
