digital line unit (DLU)

The Digital Line Unit(DLU) is used in circuit switched systems for the digitalline terminations.

A Digital Data Unit is a concentrator or interface multiplexer and a multiplexer that concentrates multiple connection paths. DLU units are connected to the subscriber lines and provide various interfaces. They can be an integral part of the switching systems or operate as remote units. In both cases, they connect the line trunks to the connected operator consoles.
