digital home standard (DHS)

The Digital Home Standard (DHS) is a standard of the Universal Powerline Association( UPA) for home networking via powerline communication( PLC).

The DHS standard is intended to distribute triple play but also audio and HDTV via broadband powerline in digital home networks. With this concept, UPA aims to secure the digital future of powerline networks.

Furthermore, UPA has taken into account the initiative "Open PLC European Research Alliance"( OPERA), driven by the European Union, in its specifications and aims at a co-existence and interoperability of the Digital Home Standard (DHS) and OPERA (Open PLC European Research Alliance).
