dial-up networking profile (Bluetooth) (DUNP)

Dial-up Networking Profile (DUNP) is a Bluetooth profile that establishes the protocols for the dial-up connection to the next base station, to a public network or to the Internet.

Depending on the connection configuration, whether ISDN or POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service), the base station emulates an ISDN adapter card or a modem. A terminal device such as a PDA, DVD player or personal computer can dial into the Internet via the DUNP gateway.

DUNP is based on the Serial Port Profile( SPP) and uses the Point to Point Protocol( PPP) for data transfer and the AT commands for modem control.
