device provisioning protocol (security) (DPP)

The Device Provisioning Protocol (DPP) was developed to eliminate the vulnerabilities in WiFi Protected Setup( WPS) security and to easily integrate WiFi clients into the WiFi network.

Among WiFi devices in the Internet of Things( IoT), there are various ones that cannot be directly connected to WiFi networks, for example, because they do not have a user interface. The DPP protocol ensures that these devices can be integrated into a WLAN using a smartphone and an app. The app is used to scan the QR codes of the access point( AP) and the WiFi client and implement the configuration. The WiFi client must then register with the access point.
