device provisioning protocol (DPP)

The Device ProvisioningProtocol (DPP) was developed to eliminate the vulnerabilities in the security of WiFi Protected Setup

(WPS) and to easily integrate WiFi clients into the WiFi network. Among the WiFi devices in the Internet of Things (IoT), there are various ones that cannot be directly connected to WiFi networks because, for example, they do not have a user interface. The DPP protocol ensures that these devices can be integrated into a WLAN using a smartphone and an app. The QR codes of the access point (AP) and the WiFi client are scanned via the app and the configuration is implemented. The WiFi client must then register with the access point.
