demand side platform (DSP)

Demand-side platform( DSP) is a term from online advertising for a demand side. It is the demand-side approach to managing advertising space, ad space. Using such a software-based solution, advertising agencies and ad networks can manage and optimize their existing advertising space with additional advertising space bought or purchased at auction via ad exchanges for advertising campaigns or individual advertising placements.

A Demand Side Platform lists advertising spaces from a wide variety of sources, including Supply Side Platforms( SSP). It manages and evaluates the number of page impressions for each ad space in the pool.

DSP systems participate in the real-time bidding process, Real Time Bidding( RTB). In Programmatic Advertising, the decisions are automated, and the bidding and acquisition of advertising space takes place in real time. The selection is based on various criteria such as ad targeting or ad impressions. The placement of online advertising can be carried out as real-time advertising without any loss of time.
