In communications technology, a Delivery Receipt is a receiver signal that the receiversends to the sender of a Message Handling System( MHS), indicating to the sender that the message has been transmitted to the receiver. The Delivery Receipt signal is not an acknowledgement of receipt, so it says nothing about whether the addressee has accepted the message, only that it has arrived at the receiving location.
