decibel linear Z (dB(Z))

The various frequency weightings are measurement curves for sound level meters. They serve to protect against health-endangering noise and noise pollution in the home and at the workplace.

In addition to the three filter curves with A-Weighting, B-Weighting and C-Weighting, which simulate the human hearing sensation at different sound levels, there is also a linear, completely flat frequency response curve in the frequency range between 10 Hz and 20 kHz with the Z-Weighting. This frequency response curve has a maximum sound level deviation of+/- 1.5 dB.
