current injection test (CIT)

Current injection test

(CIT) is a test procedure used to test the behavior of test objects under current supply. The CIT test determines at which current supply certain disturbances or even destructions occur. The test objects of the current injection test can be electronic components, devices and systems whose behaviour is tested at high-frequency currents with frequencies between 10 MHz and 400 MHz. The currents may well amount to several kilo-amperes. The behaviour is expressed in the RF emissions emitted by cable harnesses, components or devices. If high currents are used for testing, the procedure is called Bulk Current Injection Test (BCIT).
