cryptographic checksum (CCS)

The cryptographic checksum (CCS) is a cryptographic protection for detecting data manipulation. Data protected with the Cryptographics Checksum corresponds to the Message Authentication Code (MAC). Intentional changes to files that are assigned a Cryptographics Checksum are directly detectable.
