crosstalk (XT)

Crosstalk (XT) is unwanted transmission of electrical signals between two transmission media due to inductive or capacitive coupling.

Crosstalk from one transmission channel to another will cause the output signal to change by the amplitude of the crosstalk signal.

Crosstalk from one channel to a second channel

Crosstalk usually occurs between two closely spaced media or, in the case of storage media, between two adjacent tracks such as compact discs(CDs) or DVDs. Crosstalk is not limited to the transmission of voice frequencies, but also occurs with data signals and especially with higher- frequency signals. In multimedia technology, crosstalk is also referred to as X-talk.
