cross color

Cross-color is a color interference in a color television image. They appear in the display of video signals by a moiré

at color transitions. The cross-color effect makes the color transitions look frayed. Cross-color effects occur when the finest image details with their frequency components come close to

thecolor carrier. For example, when small patterns are displayed on the television screen. In this case, the brightness component of the video

isdemodulated as color information. This is therefore an interfering interaction between luminance and chrominance signals.

On the other hand, components of the chrominance signal can also cross over into the luminance signal during demodulation. The interfering cross-color effects can be reduced by comb filters.
