coulomb´s law

Coulomb' s law was formulated by physicist Charles Augustin de Coulomb (1736 to 1806).

Coulomb's law is known as the law of electrical changes or the law of electrostatic forces that occur between two point electrical charges. Coulomb's law states that electrically charged bodies affect each other. They can attract or repel each other. The force acting on the charged bodies is the directly proportional to the product of their individual charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. Whether the charged bodies attract or repel each other depends on polarity of the charge. If the polarity is the same, the charges repel each other; if the polarity is opposite, they attract each other.
