continuous integration (software) (CI)

Continuous Integration (CI) is a software technique in which newly developed software components are regularly transformed into executable form and tested.

The CI concept, which is part of the Continuous Delivery Pipeline( CDP), is intended to increase software quality and detect errors and weak points in software development more quickly. With Continuous Integration, newly developed software components are integrated directly into the build process. Continuous Integration (CI) provides immediate feedback regarding the status and operation of the newly integrated software. Inadequacies and weak points are identified directly, which means that the errors are not too complex and are easy to rectify.

Continuous Delivery( CD) is an extension of the CI concept. While Continuous Integration (CI) is about the integration and testing of newly integrated software, Continuous Delivery (CD) is about the delivery of the software, new features and new versions.
