content provider (CP)

A contentprovider (CP) is a service company or service department of a company that offers its own or third-party content for use by third parties. The content provider receives the content from the information provider, content producer or content owner and markets it via content brokers and content syndications or directly.

Content can be marketed via the Internet or intranets. In the case of intranets, the employees of a company and other authorized users benefit from the content. Depending on the marketing concept and the usage agreement, the content can be accessed for a fee or freely.
