content billing
Content billing is a billing model for information content based on pay-per-use.
In contrast to the familiar time-based and volume-based billing modes, content billing involves payment for the content accessed, irrespective of the duration of the connection or the volume of data transferred. Content billing involves the one-time use or one-time download of an electronic piece of information. This pay-per-use service has the advantage that the user does not have to sign a subscription or other contractual agreement.
Content billing can also refer to the licensing of documents, of texts and graphics. Content syndication companies act as marketers on the market.
