In addition to HomePlug, CEPCA (Consumer Electronic Powerline Communication Alliance) is also involved in the standardization of powerline.

CEPCA and HomePlug do not work together and do not exchange their results with each other. Both develop their own powerline standards, which are incompatible with each other.

The CEPCA, an alliance of several Japanese companies such as Sony, Mitsubishi and Panasonic, has developed a PLC standard with a data rate of 170 Mbps.
