configurable logic block (FPGA) (CLB)
A Configurable Logic Block (CLB) is a configurable logic function unit. Indigital circuitry, such a CLB functional unit consists of various configurable logics, value tables and flip-flops that are programmed for a specific logic function depending on the application.
The configurable logics are AND g ates and OR gates which have to fulfill a certain logic function. D-flipflops are used to store the logic states.
CLB devices are used in FPGAs. A matrix is formed from them, which are interconnected via programmable links and can be reprogrammed at short notice depending on the application.
