A Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) system is an air conditioning system for data centers.
A CRAC system monitors and controls room temperature, ventilation and humidity. Since server racks in data centers generate a tremendous amount of heat, the heat must be dissipated and the temperature reduced.
The CRAC system works in the same way as an air conditioning system. It has a compressor in which the cooling liquid is cooled by expansion. The cooling liquid is then passed through cooling loops in which the air passed through by fans is cooled and directed into the racks. By controlling the amount of air, the CRAC system can compensate for temperature fluctuations for a short time.
