compact disc database (CDDB)

Compact Disc Database (CDDB) is an online database for audio CDs in which all titles, their artists, the names of the tracks and some other information with the Universal Product Code( UPC) or the European Article Number( EAN) are stored.

The CDDB database can be searched for titles or artists. The example shows an excerpt from the DB search. Under the EAN/UPC number 042284446624 the following information can be found: Rolling Stones, The, Aftermath. Label: Decca. Medium: Compact Disc( CD). Released: 21.03.1995. As well as more detailed information about the individual music tracks.
