committed burst (FR) (Bc)

Committed Burst Size (Bc) is the term used for managing the bandwidth ofFrame Relay( FR). It is a parameter that is defined depending on the bandwidth requirements of the customer.

In addition to the Committed Burst (Bc) parameter, there is also the Excess Burst Size( Be) and the Committed Information Rate( CIR).

The Committed Burst Size can be used to define an additional amount of data that is to be available at the frame relay connection in a specific time interval. It is used to absorb peak loads with high bandwidth requirements without having to increase the Committed Information Rate.
