commercial mobile radio service (mobile communications) (CMRS)
Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS) is defined by the Federal Communications Commission(FCC) for network operators or licensees of a radio network that is connected to the public switched telephone network. CMRS services include, but are not limited to, Personal Communication Services( PCS), and paging.
However, the term is also commonly used as a generic term for public commercial mobile radio in the United States.
