color upsampling error (CUE)
Color Upsampling Error(CUE) or Color Upsampling Bug is an error that has partially survived to this day in the DVD players of the early generations. In the case of the CUE error, the color signals of the even and odd lines were swapped from the YCbCrvideo signal with 4:2:0 color subsampling stored on the DVD due to an error in the extrapolation to the 4:2:2 format, which leads to horizontal edge distortions in corresponding picture content.
