Collaborative, Planning Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) is a cross-industry strategy approach that enables optimized cooperation between the individual links in a process chain.

By collaborating on business planning, sales forecasting, and replenishment processes, partners in the value chain coordinate, thereby reducing inefficiencies in their business operations. The buyers of products, the suppliers and their upstream suppliers benefit from coordinated production processes through, for example, significantly reduced warehousing and the possibility of just-in-time production.

CPFR is considered a further development of Efficient Consumer Response( ECR) on the supply side. All value-adding partners along the supply chain have the same relevant information at their disposal and can thus satisfy ever more demanding customer needs more efficiently.
