class-based queuing (TS) (CBQ)

Class Based Queuing (CBQ) is a queuing algorithm that uses real-time information from WAN monitors to dynamically adjust the transmission bandwidth to the traffic flow in a wide area network.

Real-time connectivity allows the traffic model to be continuously updated, whereas some CBQ shapers rely on a static traffic model. In class-based queuing CBQ, different values can be assigned to the different characteristics to enable real-time queuing adaptation. Other algorithms for queuing include TCP Rate Control, Weighted Fair Queuing(WFQ) and Adaptive Weighted Fair Queuing( AWFQ).

The CBQ protocol competes with TCP Rate Shaping( TRS) as a public domain.
