character synchronization

Character synchronization (ZS) is necessary for synchronous transmission so that the receiver can recognize to which bit position of a character the respective received bit is to be assigned. In the control method according to DIN 66 019, the ZS characters follow the characters for bit synchronization. In the procedure according to DIN 66 221, character synchronization is performed by flags (011111110) at the beginning and end of the transmission block.
