Digital Cross Connect (DXC)

A Digital Crossconnect (DXC) can be regarded as a non-blocking switching system that establishes a connection between two interfaces. Via such a DXC component, which is used in the core network, STM interfaces and E-signals can be switched in the manner of a crossconnect. Thus the digital crossconnect maps PDH feeder signals into virtual containers and can also reorder and switch the virtual containers in a synchronous transport module STM-n or transfer them to other STM-n.
