supervisory circuit (CSC) is an electronic circuit that ensures an even charge distribution of the individual battery packs of a battery-powered motor vehicle. To ensure that the individual battery packs of an electric vehicle do not charge differently,
thecharge states of
all battery packs are monitored in their most important characteristic values when charging the vehicle batteries. This function is performed by the Cell Supervisory Circuit (CSC). If individual charging curves deviate, the charging parameters for the corresponding battery pack are changed accordingly. This is also referred to as battery cell balancing. This ensures that all battery packs have identical states of charge at the end of the charging process. The cell monitoring circuit is controlled by the battery management system, which communicates with higher-level control units via the vehicle bus.
