cell loss ratio (CLR)

Cell Loss Ratio (CLR) or cell loss ratio is an ATM performance parameter that specifies the ratio of lost cells

to the total number of all transmitted cells. Cell Loss Ratio (CLR) is a negotiable Quality of Service (QoS), with acceptable values being network specific. The Cell Loss Ratio parameter is the value that a network provides for the duration of a connection. This value is independent of the class of service and can range from 10exp-5 to 10exp-7. This means that at approximately one cell is lost out of millions of cells.
