cell directory service (CDS)

The Cell Directory Service (CDS) is a directory hierarchy for local directory management.

The Cell Directory Service (CDS) is part of the Directory Services( DS) in the Distributed Computing Environment( DCE). The Cell Directory Service allows clients to find the appropriate application server from a group of servers. For these distributed client applications, the Cell Directory Service manages the namespace from the systems that are mapped and managed as a related entity.
