call reference (CR)

Since with ISDN a terminal device can control several connections simultaneously, the individual connections can be clearly distinguished by the connection identifier. Each connection therefore uses its own call reference (CR), which is assigned by the terminal equipment for outgoing connections and by the network for incoming connections.
