call control procedure

Connection control procedures define the operations at the interface between the subscriber's data terminal equipment (DTE) and data transmission equipment

(DCE). The call control procedures involve signalling for call set-up, call hold, call termination and control of subscriber services. Call control is performed between the subscribers and the exchanges. Signalling can take place in three signalling sections. These are between subscriber and exchange, within an exchange and between exchanges.
