calibrator
Calibrators are precision generators for the calibration and measurement of physical quantities. They are comparable to measurement standards, but do not have their accuracy and constancy.
Calibrators or calibration devices are used for calibration of measuring instruments, sensors, displays, transducers, amplifiers and other electronic devices and are characterized by high accuracy, good repeatability and good long-term precision.
Calibrators are electronic generators for generating and measuring DC and AC voltage, DC and AC current, resistance, frequency, brightness, color temperature, sound pressure, time or other physical quantities.
They exist as stand-alone devices for one physical quantity, but also as multifunction calibrators that can generate several physical quantities. The physical quantities they generate can usually be varied in amplitude, level, frequency, duty cycle, resistance value and many other characteristics over several decades.
