building energy management system (smart building) (BEMS)

A building energy management system, Building Energy Management System( BEMS), is an IT-based monitoring and control system.

BEMS systems monitor the data flows of energy-intensive equipment such as heating, ventilation, lighting and air conditioning, and analyze and visualize this data. They derive the control algorithms to achieve better energy efficiency. The use of building energy management systems serves to save energy and reduce costs. In addition, monitoring can trigger alarms and improve asset protection.
